About Marfe Arcenal
Ms. Marfe Arcenal holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree, with specialization in Acute Care from University of California, Los Angeles in 2003. She currently holds an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner board certification. Prior to moving to Illinois in August of 2010, Ms. Arcenal worked as a Nurse Practitioner in San Diego Veteran Affairs Healthcare System in medical-surgical, sub-acute and rehabilitation setting, where she worked with patients with acute and chronic conditions (i.e., hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, osteomyelitis, urinary/upper tract infections, etc). She also had the opportunity to work as a Nurse Practitioner with military active service members at the U. S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa Japan performing health assessments before and after service members deploy. Other experiences comprise of working with patients for weight-loss and laser procedures for hair removals and skin rejuvenation.
Presently, Ms. Arcenal holds two Advance Practice Registered
Nurse licenses, in California and Illinois. She is currently employed in a Physical Medicine model where
her skills as a Nurse Practitioner is an asset working along with their medical
wellness team. She performs trigger
point injections for many different health conditions, such as back and neck
pain, cervical/lumbar disc syndromes, bursitis/tendonitis, osteoarthritis,
fibromyalgia, headache etc. She
promotes proper diet, nutrition, rehabilitation, wellness and complementary
therapies.
Ms. Arcenal is a current member with the American Academy of Pain Management.
Ms. Arcenal enjoys traveling, watching movies, and yoga during her spare time. Also enjoys wine tasting, sushi, and fine dining.
